Twitter has released new Emoji’s for its users, to join in the Olympics spirit by evoking a national flag for each country.

A user only has to type the first three letters of their country’s name preceded by hashtag (#) for their national flag to pop up for instance #KEN.

On Friday night, the 2016 Olympics officially started in a colourful ceremony at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana Stadium.

Kenyans on twitter quickly tried out the customized emoji, expressing their gratitude and support for team Kenya at the Olympics.
