University National Music Festival kicks off in Mombasa

The third Kenya Universities National Music Dance and Elocution Festival started on a high note on Monday, March 18, at the Technical University of Mombasa.

It will end on Friday with a Vice Chancellors’ Gala that will see talented students and groups from all Universities attend.

On inspection of the hosting university, a team of executives led by the Kenya University Performing Arts Association (Kupaa) led by Ms Eunice Wakofula – in charge of Music and Drama in the state Department of Higher Education, affirmed that all systems are set to host this year’s Festival.

Several universities like Rongo, Masinde Muliro, Maseno, Karatina, Multimedia, Technical University of Mombasa, and Garisa University among others are represented.

The Secretary General of Kupaa Caleb Nyangwono teams travelling to the Technical University of Mombasa.

The university Anthem is a new class. Each University shall render their story to the public says Secretary General of Kupaa Caleb Nyangwono.

The Karaoke, cover songs have already attracted more than 49 entries.

“We welcome all students and patrons to the coast. We are ready to host you,” Mr Nyangwono said.
