Watch: Rigathi Gachagua filmed gyming as Kenyans await his swearing-in
By Wangu KanuriAs Kenyans are eagerly waiting for the swearing-in of President-Elect William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, a multitude of Kenyans are already at the Kasarani Stadium where the change of guard will happen.
However, Mr Gachagua is pumping blood in his system at his Karen residence saying he is back to keeping fit.
“We gained a lot of weight on the campaign trail but we are back to keeping fit.”
Adding that he used to exercise daily before the campaign period, Mr Gachagua explained, “I used to do this before our struggle to liberate this country from conflict of interest and state capture, economic mismanagement.”

Sharing that he will be ensuring he works out daily the Deputy President-Elect said that keeping fit will enable him to lead and serve the people of Kenya.

Adding that he is excited about the events of the day, Mr Gachagua explained that his family and he will have a Thanksgiving service before they head to Kasarani Stadium.
“We will pray for God to take care of me for the next five years so that I will be able to serve the people of Kenya diligently and improve their quality of life. Make sure that every hustle matters and above all there’s freedom in this country.”

Having served as a one-time MP for the Mathira constituency before joining Ruto in the presidential race, Gachagua said he takes no credit for the achievement and it’s all God’s mercies.
Adding that no state agencies are on his back, Gachagua noted that the freedom bit is what excites him the most and his family and him are able to sleep comfortably.
“Nobody is following what we are doing. Nobody is checking up on us. We feel great.”
