Musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee on Monday, April 10, 2023, hit news headlines after marrying Mr Denis Schweizer alias Omosh at the Windsor Golf Hotel in Nairobi.

The wedding has become the talk of the town, especially on how it was handled and the flashiness it came with.

It is worth noting that Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa attended it, Kisumu First Lady Madam Dorothy Nyong’o, Migori First Lady Agnes Ayacko, former Mombasa gubernatorial candidate Suleiman Shahbal and High Court advocate Professor PLO Lumumba.

Others are; Alex Mwakideu, Jalang’o, Billy Miya, and David Osiany.

Nairobi News has, however, gone out of the way and collected a number of details about the man who walked down the aisle alongside Ms Akothee, who is known to be outspoken, especially on matters of love.

Omosh has an account on one of the famous dating websites – Afro Introductions – and from the details he has listed there at some point, he was seeking to date a lady based in Mombasa aged between 18-24 years old.

According to eSafety Commissioner, a website that advises people on security issues says that most people usually hide their identities for many reasons.

“By hiding their real identity or using fake profiles they can act without the fear of being judged for their actions or punished. Secondly, being able to hide their real identity allows individuals and crime syndicates to pretend to be someone else and use that as a way to exploit others,” eSafety states.

Under the positive category of hiding identities, one is to limit or control how personal data is collected and stored and who can access and use it. This helps prevent security breaches, surveillance and intrusive web tracking.

“Another reason for anonymity and identity shielding is to protect users from unwanted contact. For example, eSafety encourages children only to use their given name, a nickname or an avatar online instead of a full real name. This makes it more difficult for sexual predators and scammers to interact with them,” it further says.
