Why businessman Mohammed Hersi wants Ruto to fire David Ndii
By Kevin CheruiyotThe Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA), Dr David Ndii, is once again making headlines in the country following a series of posts on the X platform regarding the high cost of fuel.
Following the review of fuel prices in the country, which saw prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene cross the Sh200 mark in the country, Dr Ndii came out to try and explain the reason for the sudden rise in fuel prices at the pump.
“I don’t believe politicians, and I don’t trust government. If you do either you are a sucker… This expectation that Kenya can abuse credit for a decade and the same people can make consequences go away painlessly just because there was a game of musical chairs we call elections? Are we sober? I told you two years ago Kenya was in receivership. Nothing has changed,” Dr Ndii said.

Businessman and hotelier, Mohammed Hersi, expressed his dissatisfaction with Dr Ndii’s post, saying his comments did not give Kenyans hope but rather sought to negatively tarnish the image of President William Ruto.
“What irks me is your Economic Advisor with his insensitive posts even casting aspersions on your Presidency. There is a big difference between Ndii pre-October 2022 and Ndii post-October 2022. Ndii is now firmly in government and he is expected to help lift Kenya out of this hole. Yes mistakes were made in the past but he is NOW in government. Sarcastic posts won’t help and any investor reading such will not even bother to consider Kenya,” Hersi said on X platform.

Hersi said instead of laughing at Kenyans amidst the high cost of living, Ndii should come out and state what exactly he is doing as President’s advisor to fix things.
“If he can’t stand the heat in the kitchen then let him do the honorable thing and quit. Surely he has no business discouraging Kenyans yet has the powers and tools to make amends. He should be explaining to Kenyans the expected results and not making fun of their woes,” Hersi said.
Hersi, who is the chairperson of Diani Hospitality Hotel Owners Association Kenya said while it is obvious that the entire globe is facing a serious economic crisis, including Kenya, Dr Ndii should talk less and do more action to get the country out of the current situation.
