Businesswoman Zari Hassan has delighted fans by sharing a heartwarming moment with her son Quincy on his birthday.

Quincy is the third son of Zari and Ivan Ssemwanga.

In an adorable Instagram video posted by Zari, viewers were captivated by the playful conversation between mother and son.

The video showed their close bond and Zari’s open approach to discussing dating and relationships with her children.

Quincy, dressed in a black shirt and brown khaki trousers, was getting ready to go out when his mother engaged him in a light-hearted conversation about his plans.

Zari encouraged him to go out with girls.

“Where do you think you’re going dressed like that?”

Quincy replied: “I’m going to dinner,” to which Zari probed further, “With who?”

“With friends,” Quincy replied,

Zari, not entirely convinced, cheekily inquired if Quincy was going out to meet girls.

Despite his blushing and insistence that he was meeting friends, Zari doubled down and expressed that she wouldn’t mind if he did go out to meet girls.

“Tell me the truth. Girls, right?” she asked.

Quincy quickly replied, “No, I don’t.”

However, Zari insisted that it was perfectly fine for him to date girls and even encouraged him to do so, jokingly adding that she would be worried if he dated boys instead.

She lightheartedly remarked that she would rather hear that he was dating girls than just ‘friends’.

“What? I’d rather hear you say you’re going out with girls than ‘my friends’. You know, this generation is confused. We want to see you go out with girls. I don’t mind you going out with girls.

“I’m happy, go out with girls… it’s nice. I love it for you guys because the next thing I’m going to be shocked… someone’s going out with a boy,” Zari said.

Zari also gave her son some advice on choosing his future wife:

“Go see girls..as many as you want. I’m happy about it, I’m fine with it. Go get yourself some girls. Make sure they’re pretty like me..they’re going to age like me, be beautiful like me, be smart like me, be hardworking like me,” she said.

Zari on her son being gay

In 2021, Zari’s second born son, Raphael Junior, hinted that he was gay.

Raphael wrote: “…you may judge me, you may think it’s not who I am, but in my heart I see men attractive and not women, but that’s just what it is.”

Not to be outdone, Zari came to his defence, stating that his Instagram Live was taken out of context and clarifying that he is not gay. “He said he was gay because women were chasing him and sending him naked pictures,” she said.

“Raphael is not gay, he is dating. He started dating when he was 14, he’d ask for money to go to the mall with his girlfriend.”

She added that if her son ever decided to be gay, she would give him her full support.

“It’s my duty as a parent, but for now we just want to clear the air and say that Raphael is not gay.”
