Zari Hassan’s South African College website suspended
By Martin AbusiThe suspension of Zari Hassan’s Brooklyn City College website has left many wondering about the cause.
While the reasons behind the suspension remain unclear, possibilities include malware infection, excessive use of server resources, payment failure, or other policy violations.
The website was initially registered on December 10, 2018, and was set to expire on December 10, 2023. Its most recent update took place on January 5, 2023.
Zari has been at the college’s helm since the passing of her late husband, Ivan Ssemwanga, who was also the father of her three sons.
After his death, the socialite had been granted permission to operate her late ex-husband’s businesses, including the college and a real estate firm.

Brooklyn City College, co-founded by Zari and Ivan in 2008, has seen significant growth and success, boasting seven branches in various locations.
The institution offers engineering, management, and health studies courses, striving to provide students with well-rounded educational experiences.
Zari has been active in her management role, even initiating the process of transferring college leadership to her children last year. Her eldest son, Pinto Ntale, was appointed the new Junior Executive Director at the College.
“Junior Executive Director. Induction, teach them young, can’t wait to see him take over the company. Managing finances,” Zari said in a series of posts.
The college’s website suspension has generated concern, as it plays a vital role in communicating the institution’s values, academic offerings, and accomplishments.
The website showcased the warm, friendly BCC community and its commitment to academic excellence, personal development, and cultivating well-rounded, responsible citizens.
The school’s suspension raises questions about the institution’s future and whether the issue will be resolved promptly to restore access to the valuable information it provides.
