Anastacia Kakii battles breast cancer, appeals for Sh3m medical fund
Renowned gospel singer Anastacia Kakii, known for her chart-topping song ‘Kiatu Kivue’, is appealing to Kenyans for support as she seeks urgent medical treatment in India.
In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Kakii revealed that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
“A month ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I have been advised to seek urgent medical treatment. The cost is Sh3 million. The doctors have not yet confirmed the stage, but we will overcome this,” she said.
In a viral poster circulating online, the talented gospel musician is asking her fans and friends to donate any amount through the following paybill number:
“Paybill: 4224960 Account number: Annastacia. Please let us join hands to make this possible”.
The gospel community and her fans have rallied around her, sharing the poster and calling for donations to support her medical journey.
In January 2024, Anastacia Kakii shared the heartwarming story of finding love again and marrying Maurice William Juma after a nine-year hiatus following her divorce from her first husband, Mukabwa.
The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony at the Cathedral of Praise Church in Imara Daima in December 2022, marking a new chapter in Anastacia’s life.
In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Anastacia expressed her gratitude for this second chance at love.
“I thank God for a beautiful wedding. God gave me a second chance. He did not give up on me. In His own time, He has blessed me with a great man,” she shared happily.
At the age of 50, Anastacia initially faced scepticism about finding love again, compounded by the challenges of her first marriage.
“Because of my age, now approaching 50, I thought I would not find love again, plus the challenges I went through in my first marriage. I did not trust men,” she told Nairobi News.
Reflecting on the first year of their marriage, Anastacia declared it a blissful and blessed union and expressed no regrets.
“He’s the best,” she said.
Anastacia told the unique story of how she and Maurice met, explaining that he had confessed to her many years ago that he had a crush on her.
“I was performing somewhere and he was just admiring me,” she recalled.
However, their connection deepened during the difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We dated for three years, but he had seen me many years before. I knew nothing about him. It was 20 years ago. He kept following me, and although he was married, his marriage was unstable. He looked up my phone number and we started talking during the Covid-19 period. His wife had died. We got to know each other and the rest is history. It was a journey,” Anastacia said.
