Anti-terror officer shot in Dandora while tracking suspect

An officer attached to the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) is admitted in hospital after he was shot by armed men in Dandora.

Constable Benson Karugu of ATPU Kisumu was in Nairobi for inquiries together with his colleagues from CID Kisumu to track a suspect down.

As he alighted from the vehicle, he was shot on the left side of the chest and on the right thigh.

The gunmen then escaped towards Baraza Mowlem.

Separately, an Administration Police officer was attacked and robbed of his Ceska pistol at the entrance of Villa Rosa Kempinski.

AP Constable Douglas Murithi is the bodyguard of Tharaka Nithi County Women Representative Beatrice Nyaga.

The officer is admitted in hospital and the gun is yet to be recovered.
