Authorities probing how pictures of ‘Obama vehicles’ were taken

The Kenya Airports Authority says it is investigating how pictures of the vehicles that will be on President Barack Obama’s motorcade were taken during arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

“KAA has noted with concern images taken at JKIA and are in circulation in the media of president Obama’s motorcade ½,” tweeted KAA Friday afternoon.

“We are in consultation with the security agencies and the respective ground handling company to ascertain how the images were acquired 2/2.”

OBAMA’S VISIT

KAA’s Twitter messages, if not hacked into, confirm that indeed the pictures that have been circulating on social media are indeed of vehicles of the US president.

The pictures show several armored Chevrolet Suburban being offloaded from a commercial aircraft at what is believed to be JKIA since some Kenya Airways aeroplanes in the background.

The Suburban vehicles are a favourite for the US Secret Service, which protects the president.

Mr Obama is expected to visit Kenya, the first such visit by a sitting US President since independence, on July 25 for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
