Boycott: Babu Owino finds a clever way of dealing with banks

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has learned a few tricks from the ongoing economic boycott announced by National Super Alliance (Nasa).

But whereas Nasa is using the boycott to push for electoral reforms, Babu Owino has improvised it to push for employment opportunities in his constituency.

On Thursday, the flamboyant MP announced on social media that he will only deposit the millions allocated for the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to a bank that offers employment to his constituents.

And he has a rider; at least ten job opportunities, though he does not mention in what capacities.

If the condition is not met then bank’s can forget conducting any business with him.

“For me to open Embakasi East CDF account with any bank in Kenya or proceed with the existing account, the bank must provide employment opportunities to at least 10 residents of Embakasi East. If the above Condition is not met the bank should forget business from us. DO ME I DO YOU,” wrote Babu Owino.

The post elicited collective support from his followers.
