Bachelor MP Ng’eno to wed city lawyer Ntutu
Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno will quit the bachelor’s club on Saturday. The legislator will tie the knot with his long time fiancée and city lawyer Nayianoi Ntutu.
Ng’eno posted a 45-second video on social media inviting Kenyans to his wedding which will be held at Emurua Dikirr Secondary School grounds. The reception will be held at the same venue.
In the video, the couple requests those who will come bearing gifts to consider “envelope gifts”.
Ms Nayianoi is from the popular Ntutu family and is related to former Narok Senator Stephen Ntutu and Chief Administrative Secretary in the Interior Ministry Patrick Ntutu hail from.
She is the daughter to Livingstone ole Ntutu, a step brother of Stephen and Patrick.
PRESSURE TO MARRY
Kipsigis elders have lauded the MP for finally getting himself a wife. The elders have been pressuring him to marry for years now.
Transmara Sub-County Kipsigis Council of Elders Chairman Alexander Kosgei said they are happy and have welcomed the wedding of their son to the daughter of the Maa community.
“We are indeed very happy. This is significant for the two communities,” he said.
Mr Ng’eno’s bachelor status has been a source of constant ridicule – especially from his political opponents – who have wondered why he is still single at 45.
His status was also a source of concern to his mother Ms Mary Temas, who is in her 80s.
“I want my son to marry so that he can give me the pleasure of grandchildren,” she said.
“My son, please marry, I want grandchildren. Or do you want to give me grandchildren when I am too old and can see no more?” she openly asked, adding that it was her wish for the home to be filled with “happy, noisy and active grandchildren.”
NEGOTIATING TEAM
In June this year, the MP formally asked for Ms Nayianoi’s hand in marriage after leading a team for negotiation at Livingstone ole Ntutu’s homestead.
Mr Ngeno’s team which arrived in two helicopters and top-of-the range vehicles, comprised of Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, MPs Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Sabina Chege (Murang’a), Wilson Sossion (Nominated) and the Deputy President’s aide Faruk Kibet, among others.
