Bandari to get state-of-the-art team bus

After picking up good results in the first eight matches of the season where they have recorded four wins, Coastal side Bandari is set to get a new state-of-the-art team bus.

According to the club’s Technical Director Edward Oduor, the bus which is currently being assembled and will be ready for use in June at the start of the second leg.

The team has been using a bus from the Bandari College for transport during league matches.

“It will be a fully equipped bus for a sports team with a huge capacity. Among the issues we have taken into consideration is player comfort because of the long travels we are always engaged in. It will be good for the players at least to travel for away matches in comfort and it will also motivate them to do well,” he said.

Currently, AFC Leopards has one of the best team buses in the Kenyan Premier League. Ingwe;’s bus was bought with funds generated from a fans’ initiative three years ago.

The Dockers signed heavily in the December-January transfer window and the results are already manifesting in the pitch.

“They are very good players and they have shown that in the matches we have played so far. I am confident we will do better than last season,” Oduor said.

The club’s management has invested heavily in the team with their winning allowances being Sh 5,000 while a further Sh 3,000 is paid out to the players whenever they draw a match.

The players’ salaries range between Sh 35,000 and Sh 65,000 with the monies being wired to the players’ accounts by the 27th day of every month.

“The players have everything and they cannot have a reason not to perform. I want to thank the Bandari management for their great support,” Oduor added.
