Obama is ‘Kenyan’, half brother Malik claims
The ‘true’ nationality of former US president, Barack Obama, is yet again the subject of speculation following sensational claims by his half brother, Malik.
This time, though, Malik has gone to the trouble of providing documentation – a birth certificate – to prove that the retired American president is indeed Kenyan by birth.
Barack’s outspoken sibling – who has been a vocal opponent of the former president for sometime – on Thursday tweeted a copy of what he claims is a valid birth certificate proving that his more famous brother was born in Mombasa, Kenya.
The “birth certificate” posted on Twitter by Malik bears the letterhead of the Coast Province General Hospital in Mombasa.
On the birth certificate, the sex of the baby is male and the date of birth listed as August, 4, 1961, which is the former president’s genuine birthday.
OBAMA’S NATIONALITY
The “document” also lists the names of Obama’s parents as Barack Hussein Obama and Stanley Ann Obama.
Kenyan citizenship is normally granted at birth, meaning that Barack Obama should be a Kenyan if indeed he was born in Mombasa.
Malik, who is an American citizen, dramatically captioned the document “Surely. What’s this?”
Mr Obama’s nationality was a subject of debate throughout his presidency as much as he maintained that he was born in the United States of America.
Malik, on his part, has experienced a particularly frosty relationship with Barack Obama’s family in recent years, a situation he has been all too keen to highlight.
He even campaigned for Donald Trump during the recent America elections, even as the then outgoing president was rooting for Mrs Hillary Clinton.
