Battle of weaves: Who is the fairest of them all?

As Nairobi voters go to the ballot for the party nominations, it’s D-day for the Jubilee Party Women representative aspirants.

The battle will be between the current city county woman representative Rachel Shebesh, businesswoman Millicent Omanga, lawyer Karen Nyamu, nominated MCA Wangui B Nganga and Janet Muthoni Ouko.

Ms Omanga plans to advocate for legislation to make the Woman Rep seat a one-term position for any candidate.

This has not gone down well with Ms Shebesh who insists that the position holder needs more powers.

PARTY ASPIRANTS

Ms Nyamu has been advocating for delivery of services to the common mwananchi identifying herself as a commoner who grew up in Nairobi’s Eastlands.

Ms Nganga on her part has packaged herself as a decent candidate and this was validated when she recently took a swipe at Ms Shebesh for scandals that dogged her during her tenure in office.

The winner of the ongoing nominations will face off with ODM’s winning candidate between businesswoman Esther Passaris and Mountainview MCA Beatrice Kwamboka alongside other party aspirants like Wiper Party’s Rachel Ndambuki and Maendeleo Chap Chap’s Nadia Khan.
