Scandal of foreign beggars enjoying city’s generosity

Hordes of foreign beggars are preying on the kindness of Nairobians.

They slip through the border from Tanzania and flock to the city where they live with local beggars before finding their footing.

They then settle down in begging communes, renting adjacent houses and apartments in Kariobangi, Korogocho, Huruma and Dandora.

Thirty two of them were arrested this week in a swoop in Kariobangi and were to appear in court.
