Being ‘anikwad’ on Kilimani Mums made me famous – Amber Ray
Socialite Amber Ray has said she never intended to be famous, only that social media users are attracted to her flashy lifestyle.
Speaking to Amina Abdi on NTV’s The Trend on Friday, May 10, Amber Ray revealed that she stumbled upon fame as a victim of cyberbullying.
“There’s this group on Facebook called Kilimani Mums, so I ‘anikwad’ (posted to be criticised) there and boom!…It was a blessing in disguise, I mean look at me now,” she told Amina.
She added that after being publicly shamed on Facebook, she panicked and decided to deactivate all her social media accounts because she was getting a huge number of subscribers.
” I didn’t know how to deal with it but I asked myself what is the worst thing that can happen from all of this… and then I said let me face my fears, there’s nothing else I can do… so I activated my accounts and started living my life,” she said.
