Ben Pol: My failed marriage was just for Instagram aesthetic, I didn’t enjoy
Bongo flava singer Ben Pol for the umpteenth time, has yet again revisited his failed marriage to Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai.
Ben Pol says he never enjoyed his 11 months of marriage to Anerlisa as he had hoped.
In a candid interview with Millard Ayo, Ben Pol branded his marriage to Anerlisa as purely a social media aesthetic union.
“If I am, to be honest with you, if you removed the Instagram posts we used to put up about our marriage, there is nothing really good that I enjoyed or experienced about marriage like I see of other couples,” Ben Pol says.

True indeed, the couple served couple goals on social media, documenting every one of their escapades in and around the globe. Anyone would have envied them.
The ‘Moyo Mashine’ hitmaker says he feels their marriage was mostly about documenting their moves on social media to paint a picture of a happy union, yet that wasn’t the case in reality.
“For us, our marriage was pure aesthetics. It was all about taking pictures and writing colorful captions and nothing much. I don’t mean to demean anyone but in my opinion I feel like I got into a situation to complete someone’s idea of being perfect.”
Ben Pol also revealed that their divorce was finalized after almost two years after filing for an annulment.
The singer filed for divorce in April 2021 at a Dar es Salaam court just 11 months after the pair wedded.

Anerlisa and Ben Pol began their affair in 2018, having met at a press conference in Nairobi. They dated secretly before going public with their affair.
The two would marry in 2020 in a private wedding ceremony attended by close family and friends in Tanzania.
The cracks in their marriage would soon start to appear with Anerlisa dropping Ben Pol’s surname even as both parties remained tight-lipped on what was going on. Name. The singer would then file for divorce.
In a past interview with Nation, Ben Pol said he tried all the possible could to save the marriage but his efforts were not enough.
“We broke up in episodes before things got out of hand, and we finally split. What I can say is that I did everything I could for the marriage to work. I did my best but it wasn’t enough.” Said the singer who four days ago released his latest single dubbed ‘Enjoyment.”
