Former nominated senator Daisy Nyongesa recently shared the secret to her successful and enduring relationship with her husband, Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera.
The couple was spotted affectionately interacting during the burial of Mzee Buyai Soita in Kakamega County, capturing the hearts of onlookers.
In a Facebook post, Daisy Nyongesa revealed the key to their long-lasting love: ensuring her husband has had an endless supply of uji (porridge) for the past 13 years. Her candid and light-hearted post highlighted the importance of happiness and cherishing life’s moments.
“Life is short. Enjoy it as it comes and avoid people who have shared a blanket because I have prepared porridge for 13 years and ain’t stopping anytime soon,” she wrote.
The photos taken during the burial ceremony in Chevaywa Ward, Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County showed the couple sharing affectionate moments and laughter, portraying a strong and loving bond.
The couple also took a moment to eulogize the late Soita, describing him as a man with admirable traits.
Mzee Buyai Soita, who passed away at the age of 93, was praised by mourners for his careful planning for his demise and for ensuring his children’s education and good manners.
The ex-senator fondly remembered him as a unifying force within his family, acknowledging that his absence would be deeply felt.
In July 2022, she made headlines when she organized a lavish Sh 1 million birthday and dedication party for her one-year-old daughter, Heiress D’Eunice Zawadi Mwenje.
Celebrating her baby, she said, “Your birth writes my story (for this child I prayed)…I pray to God to always keep the smile on your lips and make you the world’s happiest person. You bring immense joy and peace to life. You are the most beautiful flower in the garden of my heart and our lives. You deserve to have all the love. The mini version of myself is way better than the original self.”
The celebration included an all-white Range Rover limousine ride for the little princess.
