Bishop apologises for ‘groping’ Ariana Grande’s boob
American Bishop Charles H. Ellis III was over the weekend under fire over accusations of ‘groping’ singer Ariana Grande’s boob.
The incident happened during the singer’s performance at Aretha Franklin’s funeral.
Footage shared widely online captured the Bishop’s right hand extending to Ariana’s right breast.
The hashtag #RespectAriana trended over the weekend prompting the Bishop to apologise.
He told the Associated Press on Saturday that it was not his intention to grab the Ariana Grande’s breast.
Ariana sang the Aretha Franklin classic “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” as part of a series of tributes by musicians to the deceased singer.
After her performance, she was congratulated by Bishop Charles who wrapped his arm around her and fingers pressed against her chest.
The outrage that came as a result prompted the Bishop to apologise to the singer and her fans.
“Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar, but again, I apologize,” he said.
