Bishop in court over Sh2m jobs scam

A  man who claims to be a Bishop was on Thursday charged with obtaining money by false pretence over a jobs scam.

Evans Murungaru Kamiti, a bishop at the Jesus Prophetic Church, Ngong road, was arrested allegedly obtained Sh2.5m from 14 people in the pretext of offering them jobs in Canada.

He was on arrested on Wednesday at the city centre.

Daniel Kiarie, one of the victims, claimed he had given the man Sh200, 000 for passport, visa and marriage certificate fees to facilitate the trip to Canada.
