Blogger Alai owns up to attempting to stop NTV from airing expose
Controversial Blogger Robert Alai has confirmed that he unsuccessfully attempted to stop NTV from broadcasting the ‘Certificate of Doom‘ expose on Sunday.
Alai said through his Twitter handle that he attempted to bar the media house from airing the investigative series because it was a “witch hunt bone out of malice by UAC owner”.
Alai however did not substantiate these claims.
“Yes I TRIED to stop the #CertificatesOfDoom broadcast because it’s witch-hunt bone out of malice by UAC owner. No journalism there. Next?” Alai wrote on his Twitter handle @RobertAlai.
Nairobi News had on Monday exclusively obtained a phone recording in which the blogger issued threats to NTV‘s reporter Dennis Okari in a failed bid to stop the television station from airing the expose.
Here is the recorded Sunday telephone conversation between Alai and Okari.
Students of Nairobi Aviation College on Monday hurled stones at the Nation Media Group offices to protest the investigative series that revealed academic malpractices in the institution.
The violent students hurled stones at the building after failing to gain access to the media house.
