Blogger apologises for ‘killing’ Kibra MP on Twitter
Blogger Polycap Hinga has apologized for spreading fake news that Member of Parliament for Kibra constituency Ken Okoth has passed on.
Okoth has also taken to Twitter to address the subject, urging the likes of Hinga to stop ‘killing him before his time’.
I’m alive and kicking. Folks should stop killing me before my time with rumours. #TheBestIsYetToCome #IAmASurvivor #WeShallOverCome pic.twitter.com/23IghDWJNC
— Kenneth Okoth, MP Kibra (@okothkenneth) April 9, 2019
The eloquent lawmaker is known for key development projects in his constituency, especially those that empower the youth to embrace education.
He is currently receiving treatment in Europe for colon cancer, and has received overwhelming support from Kenyans of all walks of life.
APOLOGIES
Hinga meanwhile claims to have received the news from a ‘lady cousin’.
“Apologies then, I saw it on Twitter. I called a lady cousin and she said it was true. She has since gone mteja. That said I accept and apologize for my role in propagating fake news,” said Hinga.
Okoth is just the latest of several prominent Kenyans who have been ‘killed’ on Twitter.
