Blogger Nyakundi summoned to court for continued defamation on Safaricom bosses
A judge has summoned controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi to appear in court next week for continuing to publish defamatory information against Safaricom’s current and former bosses.
Justice Lucy Njuguna issued the directive after the court was notified.
Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore and his predecessor Michael Joseph, had sued the blogger for publishing defamatory statements against them in his blog earlier in the year.
The court had issued a temporary order stopping him from doing so.
“Mr Nyakundi to personally attend court as it has been brought to the attention of the court that he has continued to publish the alleged defamatory articles,” the judge said.
The blogger denies being given case documents on contempt of court proceedings against him over the matter. The case will be mentioned on September 13.
