Body with stab wounds found dumped in Kahawa West plantation
Police in Nairobi are searching for the killers of a man who was found stabbed to death and his body dumped in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
The victim, George Kithinji, 35, was found lying dead in a yam plantation within Soweto informal settlement on April 25.
Police believe he was killed in his house before he was dumped at the plantation.
“Officers who visited his house found bloodstains on the mattress. Also recovered were two blood-stained kitchen knives which have been kept as exhibits,” a police statement read in part.
According to the police, this indicated the man was killed in the house before the body was dragged to the farm.
Neighbours and members of the public who learned of his death retaliated by attacking his wife as they suspected she might have stabbed her husband.
“When word went round that the man had been killed in his house and his body dragged to the farm, they attacked the wife with blows and stones before she was rescued by police,” police added.
Police have since launched investigations to establish the motive behind the incident.
The woman was taken to hospital as the body of her husband was taken to the mortuary pending autopsy.
The latest incident marks the alarming stabbing incidents in Nairobi.
Last week, police launched a manhunt for a teenager who stabbed his father to death after a domestic dispute in Nairobi’s Mwiki area.
The missing teenager who is yet to be arrested is a Form Three student at a local school and police say they want to interrogate him to establish his motive for killing his 49-year-old stepfather.
According to police, neighbours rushed the deceased to Mwiki Modern Hospital but he was transferred to St Francis Hospital after it was discovered that the chest wounds were deep and serious.
Meanwhile, police in Zimmerman are investigating an incident in which the body of a man was taken to a private clinic and dumped there.
Managers at the facility told police that the body was dumped there by three men who seemed intoxicated.
“The body had no identification documents then. Those who brought the body to the facility ran away and did not explain what happened,” a police report stated.
Police were called and picked up the body to the mortuary for identification and autopsy.
