Brave pedestrian stops ‘MP’s sleek car’ being driven on wrong side – VIDEO

A pedestrian has won over the hearts of many after he courageously stopped a sleek car, reportedly owned by a Member of Parliament, from being driven on the wrong side of the road.

A video of the incident, shared by activist Boniface Mwangi, identifies the courageous man as David Lemayian.

Mr Lemayian stood in front of the black Mercedes, registration number KCC 600P,  to stop it from overlapping other vehicles in the Monday incident.

Donned in blue jeans, a yellow stripped t-shirt and a satchel bag, he defiantly blocked the vehicle while lecturing its occupants on traffic rules.

The vehicle was being driven by a youthful driver wearing a cap.

A search at the National Transport and Safety Authority web portal identified the owner of the vehicle as Sudi Kipchumba Oscar.

Mr Lemayian’s act of bravery elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter.

@ronoh_gie said; “This guy must have a lot of faith in humanity to believe that simply because he is right there in front of the car someone won’t run him over.”

@steveochi commented; “I once refused to move for an extra passenger in a Matatu. The makanga and driver almost beat me up.”

@vinachwaka wrote; “That Mercedes driver should be charged with a traffic offense.”

@J82James said; “Yes, I do agree. We cannot have double standards. This is a lawmaker who loves breaking the same law he purports. Having your cake and eating.., no way. Only about 5 percent of Kenyan pop, but they project such a picture depicting the whole country in that light. Shindwe!”

@MwangiRi tweeted; “I wld get out of car open bonnet n pretend something was wrong….simple …n Lemayian wld be on his way…! We don’t complain when hundreds of cows block our roads n cos traffic snarl ups! Not wise!”

@kakundef said; “Try that before a probox or huku kwetu eastlando utajua hujui.”

@safari_custom wrote; “Kenya is a great nation it’s just there is a few bad apples.”
