British Afro-swing band, NSG, set to perform in Kenya

NSG, a British Afro-swing band, have confirmed they will perform in Kenya on December 11, 2022. According to communication on their social media, the team of six will also tour Zambia, Nigeria and Ghana as part of their African Tour.

They further mentioned that tickets will be available from Wednesday.

NSG were in Kenya last year for their ‘Roots Africa Tour’ at the Pizza and Wine Festival at Ngong Racecourse.

After their first Kenyan show, the UK Rap Group’s member Papii Abz, described Kenya’s enthusiasm as spectacular when it comes to holding down a show.

“I have done shows in my life and this is no exaggeration, nothing has topped Kenya yet. They’re crazy. The energy is stupendous,” he said.

The Afro-bashment band put out their debut track, “Whine and Kotch,” in December of 2013. In 2015, they worked with English rapper J Hus.

The group released their first mixtape, “Grown Up,” in 2017. They published their second mix tape, titled “Roots,” in June 2020. In 2018, they released the track “Options” with UK rapper Tion Wayne, which peaked at number 7 on the UK singles chart.

The afro-bashment group originate from Hackney, East London. Five out of six members of the group attended secondary school together, with Mojo being the exception, but all members grew up in the same area.

NSG is made up of three artists of Nigerian descent and three artists of Ghanaian descent who are from East London.

The group which consists of Kruddz, OGD, Papii Abz, Dope, Mxjib, and Mojo is currently on their Euro tour that is expected to end on November 21, 2022, in Denmark.

Two members, OGD and Kruddz, are the brothers of production wizard JAE5.

The lauded UK producer is best known for his work with popular UK rapper J Hus, but he’s also responsible for most of NSG’s club and dance-ready production so far.
