Burglars steal music system from Nairobi church


Police in Nairobi have launched a manhunt for burglars who at the weekend broke into a church in Mlango Kubwa and stole a music system including a piano.

According to a police report filed at Pangani Police Station in Starehe Sub-County, the burglary happened at Apostolic Great Commission Church.

“They broke into the church on the night of Saturday, March 11, 2023, only for the members to realise what happened the following day as they arrived for the morning service,” the police report reads in part.

The matter was recorded at the station under OB number 38/11/03/2023.

From a video that captured the incident, the burglars gained access into the church by cutting part of the iron sheets.

Mid last month, a suspected thug known by the name Vinnie was shot dead by the police in Mlango Kubwa area and pistol recovered.

The suspect was in the company of two others when detectives laid a trap for him by hiding in a drainage trench.

The suspect was wanted for a spate of robberies in the area. Police said the deceased was responsible for the murder of a motorbike rider in the area.
