Burkina Faso coach reveals Mourinho’s goodwill message
Burkina Faso coach Paulo Duarte has said he received a goodwill message from Manchester United Jose Mourinho ahead of Wednesday’s crunch semi-final match against Egypt.
The Portuguese trainer made the revelation while addressing a press briefing at the Stade d’Limite on Tuesday evening ahead of their clash against the seven time African champions.
“In fact he (Mourinho) called me yesterday and wished me well. He is someone who always checks on me and gives me advice. He is a friend, father, somebody who has for 12 years changed the game and especially the capacity to analyse the opponents not only in Portugal but in the world.” said Duarte, a former Portugal coach.
STRONG TEAM
Speaking of Egypt, Duarte said: “They are a strong team, with talented players, experienced players, it will not be easy for Burkina tomorrow, but it will not be easy for Egypt as well.”
The Stallions are so far unbeaten in this competition, having scooped two wins – against Tunisia and Guinea Bissau – and as many draws, versus Cameroon and hosts Gabon.
Egypt is also unbeaten, thanks to wins over Ghana, Uganda and Morocco and a draw versus Morocco.
The Pharaohs are also yet to conceede a goal in this competition in four games
