Caught on video: Chilling moment Kariobangi house caved in
A video has emerged showing the dramatic moment a condemned building caved in in Kariobangi Tuesday morning.
Bystanders risked their lives to record the videos as some wailed in disbelief.
The five-storey residential building had been evacuated and was marked for demolition.
Kariobangi South MCA Robert Mbatia said the building was completed seven months ago and six tenants had moved in last month.
He said the building developed cracks on Monday forcing the tenants to evacuate immediately.
He said the house was built in a swampy place and that they had raised concerns to the planning department but nothing was done.
