Traffic was disrupted on Thursday morning as traders rioted outside Yaya centre in Hurlingham after county askaris demolished their kiosks in an overnight operation.
The rowdy traders barricaded the busy Yaya Ring Road and lit bonfires.
Most said they were shocked to find their structures demolished without any notice.
Police at the scene advised motorists to use alternative routes.
The demolished kiosks housed eateries and M-Pesa shops.
