Charity Ngilu’s early upset in Kitui as Joho comfortable in Mombasa


Kitui gubernatorial candidate Charity Ngilu had by midnight taken a surprise early lead as results from 294 out of 1,454 polling stations came in.

The Narc party leader had 24,771 votes while Independent candidate David Musila who quit Wiper party garnered 16,187 votes and incumbent Julius Malombe 10,459 votes.

In Kirinyaga, 42 out of 659 polling stations that had relayed results had Anne Waiguru leading with 8,392 votes while Martha Wangari had 5,924 votes.

Mombasa gubernatorial candidate Hassan Joho had 8,327 votes by midnight as Suleiman Shahbal garnered 3,292 votes in the 41 out of 934 polling stations that had counted.
