Chinese club Guizhou Zhicheng announce signing of Olunga
Chinese club Guizhou Zhicheng have completed signing of African duo Aly Ghazal and Michael Olunga.
“Guizhou Zhicheng FC hope the two African players will integrate with the team as soon as possible and show their mettle, intrepidity and fighting spirit to the team,” read the club statement.
The newly promoted CSL outfit said the Egypt international and Nacional captain Ghazal along with Kenyan star striker Olunga, who previously linked with Russian giants CSKA Moscow, will join their new team-mates in South Korea where the club set up a pre-season training camp.
Early this week, Olunga’s agent Patrick Dark confirmed interest from China, but he neither admitted nor denied that Olunga is open to the idea of moving to the CSL before the Chinese transfer deadline at the end of February.
Olunga left Gor Mahia for Sweden one year ago and penned a four year contract with IF Djurgarden.
The towering striker managed twelve goals last season and was a hot cake in the transfer market as teams from Russia, Turkey and China wanted his services.
