Chinese nationals in court for participating in exhibition without permit


Two Chinese men and a woman have denied charges of participating in the ongoing exhibition at the Kenya International Convention Centre, without a permit.

The three Ms Shirong Peng, Mr Liang Dan and Mr Shen Jiansheng, who were arrested on Wednesday during the ongoing Oil & Gas International Trade Exhibition.

They were all charged with one count each, of engaging in the expo without a pass or permit.

DENIED CHARGES

The court heard that the three acted contrary to Section 53(1)(m) and section 53(2) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act.

They allegedly represented Gas and Oil Exploration Company.

All the three accused persons denied the charges before senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku.

The court directed them to deposit their passports in court and post cash bail of Sh100,000 each to get back their freedom. The case will be heard on June 13.
