On January 13 we reported that Teacher Wanjiku , a popular comedian on Churchill Show had quit to pursue other interests.

However, the show’s producers, Laugh Industry have insisted that the the comedian has just taken a short break.

Laugh Industry’s spokesperson Waudo Munyasa, has told NairobiNews that it was normal for any comedian to take a break and repackage themselves.

“Teacher Wanjiku asked us to allow her to relax a bit,” said Munyasa.

“She wanted to think through her character and see what changes she would like to make, but she will be back once she is ready.”

“Eric Omondi and AKA have taken a break too. Eric is coming back this week after a month-long break and AKA will be back soon,” he added.

Munyasa also dismissed rumours that there is bad blood between Teacher Wanjiku and Churchill, after the latter allegedly demanded to be paid 50 per cent of the cash she got from the Airtel advertisement.

“Churchill cannot do such a thing. These were just malicious rumours by some blogs,” said Munyasa.
