City businessman yet to be arrested after gun drama in nightclub
Businessman Chris Obure on Friday night threatened to shoot a man at Kilimani’s B-Club, barely two months after he assaulted a man and threatened to shoot him at a club in Westlands.
Curiously, two days after the incident, Mr Obure has not been arrested nor his firearm confiscated.
According to a report made at Kilimani police station, Occurrence Book (OB) number 9/31/12/2016, Mr Obure had double-parked his black Range Rover, blocking other revelers.
When he was called to move his car, he instead got infuriated, drew his gun and threatened to shoot the two customers.
He then smashed the driver’s window of a silver Volkswagen Passat.
On November 2 last year, the same businessman threatened to shoot Mr Alex Lwin at Klub House along Ojijo road in Parklands but no action was taken.
Mr Lwin later officially complained to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Ndegwa Muhoro, the Independent Police Oversight Authority (Ipoa) and the Office of Director of Public Prosecution.
The incident at the B-Club was the third, with police taking no action.
On Saturday, Kilimani OCPD Peter Kattam said the matter was being investigated and that they would take action once the investigations are complete.
It is not clear how many firearms Mr Obure has, but sources also said that one of his pistols is being held by the DCI’s Flying Squad over misuse.
