City couple begins three-year ride around the world – PHOTOS
After about two years of planning and a lot of sacrifice, Mr Dos Kariuki and Mrs Wamuyu Kariuki have finally started their three-year journey to seven continents on their motorcycles.
The couple was on Monday seen off by their families, close friends, fellow bikers and even admirers, who have been following their stories on news channels and their social media pages and website.
They were flagged off on a chilly morning at Parklands Baptist Church by Mr Kariuki’s friend, pastor and bike mentor – Nairobi Chapel’s Pastor Nick Korir.
It was an emotional moment when those who had come to see them off bid them goodbye.
“I can see all this happening, but it’s yet to hit me that they will be gone for years. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow morning and I am alone at home, that’s when the reality will sink in,” said their daughter, Michelle.
Mr Kariuki first travelled to South Africa on a motorcycle in 2015.
