Why city motorists are frustrated with digital parking pay services

By COLLINS OMULO November 15th, 2017 1 min read

Motorists using digital parking payment service Jambo Pay are complaining of systemic challenges.

They cite slowness, technology failure and delays forcing most of them to pay manually after their vehicles have been clamped.

Motorists are required to pay Sh300 digitally through Jambo Pay as parking fees.

Josephine Wangeci, who parks on Kimathi Street, said the service was slow.

“The system is very slow and prone to delays,” she said.

Another motorist, Paul Njoroge, said the system can take several hours before one gets a response, thereby causing inconvenience.

But Jambo Pay boss Danson Muchemi denied the claims, saying the system was one of the best digital platforms serving 3.2 million users.
