City MP faults Matiang’i on adopt-a-polling station stance
Kibra MP Ken Okoth has told acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i that he cannot stop opposition supporters from guarding their votes.
Matiangi had on Friday said no unauthorized persons will be allowed near polling stations.
The opposition coalition Nasa has been urging its supporters to adopt a polling station and guard votes during and after voting is done on August 8.
Okoth took to Twitter to support his coalition’s position, stating, “Kenya is bigger than Matiang’i. You Cannot stop an idea whose time has come. Raila Odinga.”
His tweet elicited reactions among his followers with some disagreeing with Matiangi’s directive.
