City dad stabs house help multiple times in night of fury

A Nairobi man stabbed his house help several times on Wednesday night in Mugoya estate, South C under unclear circumstances.

Lang’ata OCPD Elijah Mwangi said that Mr Moses Gutu had a quarrel with his house help before he picked a knife and stabbed her several times on the neck, head, hands and back.

Ms Monica Nandia, 22, was rescued by the neighbours who rushed her to hospital in critical condition.

The OCPD said that the attacker was arrested and will be charged in court.

“That amounts to attempted murder. He was arrested and is in custody. We thank the neighbours who rescued the victim and also arrested the suspect,” he said.

Police recovered the knife and also took the blood stained clothes as exhibits.

Elsewhere, a General Service Unit (GSU) officer is admitted in hospital with stab wounds after he was attacked at Allsops, Thika Road on Wednesday night.

Constable Charles Likuru Shamalla was attacked by three robbers who ordered him to surrender his phone and cash but he resisted.

He was stabbed twice on the back, prompting him to raise alarm.

Members of the public cornered one of the suspects and subjected him to mob injustice.

Both the officer and the suspect are admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

And in Karen, three armed men broke into the house of Mr Stephen Gouws, a South African national, along Windy Ridge at around 10pm and found him in the kitchen.

They shot him twice and escaped through the fence without stealing anything.

Karen Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Keneth Njoroge said that the victim’s wife and children were not injured.

Mr Gouws, who was shot in  the right foot, is admitted at the Karen Hospital.
