Comedian Jalang’o to quit radio and join politics, eyes city seat
Comedian and radio presenter Felix Fabian Odiwour Otuch, better known as Jalang’o, has revealed his plans to quit radio and join politics.
Jalang’o hopes to make the switch to politics by the next general elections. He has set his eyes on the Lang’ata parliamentary seat.
Jalang’o revealed his political ambitions in a recent interview.
“I am 35 years now with my next birthday on the 27th of April. These are probably my last five years on radio. I will be 40 years then, what else will I be doing? Let me give back and that why i will be vying,” he said.
Jalang’o, one of Kenya’s the best paid emcee and radio presenters, is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Community Development at Daystar University. He is set to graduate next year.
He says he enrolled for the course to help him understand how to manage and interact with his constituents once elected.
“I choose community development because as MP for Lang’ata constituency I have to be able to take care OF community matters.
TOWN WILL NOT SLEEP
“I am graduating in 2019, it will be lit for days. The day I graduate this town will not sleep. I have achieved all these (success) without having a degree, imagine what am about to do once I get it” he joked.
The comedian says he owes his achievements to his resilience, hate for comfort zone, self belief, courage and discipline.
