Confusion as officers are barred from Vigilance house offices

Command structures collapsed dramatically at police headquarters Friday as police heads adopted unorthodox tactics to lock out outgoing Deputy Inspector-General of Police Grace Kaindi from accessing Vigilance house.

Junior officers who operate at Vigilance House were on Friday barred from accessing their offices.

The Director of Operations, one Mr Ndolo, was said to be ‘vetting’ officers before they are allowed in.

Only officers who perform ‘core’ functions were allowed in.

All officers have also been directed not to park their vehicles at the main parking lot at the Vigilance House.

Ms Kaindi has insisted on being given a dismissal or sacking letter before she can leave office.

National Police Service Commission chairman Johnston Kavuludi is expected to present the letter to the outgoing police boss. The commission has however not deliberated on the matter.
