A warrant of arrest has been issued against the personal assistant to the Nairobi County Transport Executive Evans Ondieki in a case in which he is accused of  demanding a Sh800,000 bribe.

Mr Jared Nyauma Ondieki is said to have demanded Sh100,000 from Mr James Maina Mugo on September 8 at a hotel along Moi Avenue, Nairobi as inducement to facilitate the resolution of a parking and loading zone dispute along Mwimbi road.

The dispute was between Nuclear Investments Company Ltd and Triple S Services company limited.

INDUCEMENT

He is also alleged to have demanded a further Sh700,000 from the same man on September 30 at a coffee shop in Eco Bank Towers along Kaunda Street, Nairobi as inducement to facilitate the settlement of the parking dispute.

Mr Nyauma was expected before the anti-corruption court on Tuesday but instead sent a lawyer with a medical document stating that he was unwell.

Acting chief magistrate Doreen Mulekyo rejected the sick-note saying it did not indicate whether he was admitted or not.

The magistrate set December 16 for the next mention date and confirmation of the execution of the warrant.
