Crack down on noisy Umoinner buses

September 29th, 2013 1 min read

It is fashionable to listen to some music  in a matatu  but the volume of the music in the Umoinner buses that ply Jogoo Road is  a nuisance.

It is  so loud that even the use of one’s mobile phone is  limited to texting.

Woe unto you if you try taking up the matter with the ruffians who run them. You are accused of being too old.

“If the music is too loud then you’re probably too old to be here,” one passenger was curtly told on Sunday.

What these operators do not understand however is that no one gets into a PSV to listen to some music in as much as it comes in handy for commuters stuck in traffic jams.

What became of the rule by the National Environmental Management Authority, (Nema) on noise pollution?
