Diamond Platnumz, the renowned Tanzanian artist, has offered an explanation for his continued use of hired private jets, despite having previously announced his intention to purchase one.

In a recent interview with Tanzanian media, Diamond revealed that he fell victim to a staggering fraud amounting to Ksh 240,591,200 million while attempting to acquire his private aircraft.

The artist disclosed that he was deceived by an agent who had been assisting him in the purchase of a private plane.

The scheme, which cost him an exorbitant amount, left him disillusioned and unable to secure his desired private jet.

“I had brought a very big plane, but they conned me about Tsh 4 billion,” Diamond lamented, highlighting the extent of the fraud.

Diamond explained, “The government knows, if you are conned that amount of money you would go crazy.”

He further revealed that the authorities are investigating the matter. As for the financial recovery, he explained:

“They have started paying. I expected the jet to land here in August last year, but by the end of the year, it was not yet here. They disrespected me because they made me look like I had announced fake news.”

In 2022, Diamond Platnumz had made public his plans to acquire a private jet.

He had even shared his excitement with his fans, mentioning the purchase of a brand new 2021 Rolls Royce Black Badge as a milestone achieved.

In his statement, he expressed determination, saying, “We bought a 2021 Rolls Royce Black Badge Zero kilometer last year, and we are buying a Private Jet this year!!! … that’s the definition of having the best management!…! it’s my Manager @sallam_sk’s Birthday, and we party hard at UPEPO GARDEN tonight!”

Diamond had publicly announced his intention to purchase a private jet was to facilitate his international tours.

Diamond emphasized that global travel can often become quite challenging without personal means of transportation.
