Diamond Platnumz’s manager Hamisi Shaban Taletale better known as Babu Tale has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the University of America.

According to Babu Tale, the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Philosophy was awarded to him due to his work on leadership and nation building.

“Today is a day that I cannot compare to any other…. The University of America has awarded me an Honorary Doctorate Degree of philosophy, for my contribution in leadership and nation building. I thank my country for maintaining a friendly environment that has enabled us to be recognized both locally and internationally,” Babu Tale said.

Babu Tale, who is also the Member of Parliament for Morogoro South East constituency, further thanked his constituents for playing a major role in his successes.

“Morogoro South East constituency you have been a bridge to my success and I want to thank you for the honour I’m being given now and what will come my way in the future. May God bless you all and I promise to serve you more diligently,” he said.

In 2020, Babu Tale became the CCM’s flagbearer in the parliamentary seat after beating Tanzania’s Assistant Agricultural Minister Omary Mgumbe, who was the incumbent, to clinch the CCM ticket.

Speaking after being declared CCM candidate, Babu Tale had said if he emerged victorious he would prioritise education, security and construction of roads.

The untimely death of his wife led critics to spread malicious rumours that he allegedly sacrificed his wife in exchange for power.

However, during an interview with Clouds FM Babu Tale refuted the claims, saying the rumours were being spread by jealous people.
