Did Uhuru snub Sonko in Solai? – VIDEO

On Wednesday, when President Uhuru Kenyatta led Kenyans in mourning the 47 victims of the Patel Dam tragedy in Solai, Nakuru County, something peculiar happened.

A video capturing the president’s arrival at the venue showed a lonely Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko standing behind other governors who lined up to greet the president.

The Nairobi governor, known for causing scenes when snubbed at President Kenyatta’s events, turned his head away from the president’s sight with his hands clutched on his back, as a smiling Uhuru exchanged pleasantries with other dignitaries.

Last week Sonko, caused a shocking protocol row when he blocked Deputy President William Ruto from speaking before him during the launch of the national tree planting day attended by President Kenyatta.

Cabinet Secretary for Environment Keriako Tobiko had invited Mr Ruto to make his speech and thereafter invite the president to the podium. As the DP rose from his seat, Sonko interjected by grabbing an adjacent microphone, forcing Ruto to quickly take back his seat.
