Donkeys ‘occupy’ and block bridge, disrupt traffic in Narok
Transport was paralysed for close to an hour on Saturday when donkeys blocked a bridge in Narok town and refused to move.
It is not known why the over 30 donkeys decided to ‘occupy’ the bridge.
Efforts by the passengers to beat them I a bid to drive them away proved futile as the animals ‘stood their ground’.
Police who came to the scene were helpless even as wananchi chided them to teargas the stubborn beasts of burden out of the bridge.
Efforts by the local Maasai morans to sweet talk them from the bridge did not work either.
Eventually, the frustrated motorists decided to literally drag the donkeys out the bridge one by one.
The donkeys caused a tailback on either side of the bridge that took more than 40 more minutes to clear
