Dorcas Rigathi asks Kenyans to cease crucifying Pastor Mackenzie’s family
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s wife Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has defended controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie’s family against criminal allegations facing him.
She described the controversial preacher as a criminal and not a pastor.
She spoke in Kibra, Nairobi on April 27, 2023, during a feeding programme for widows.
Pastor Dorcas said the country is governed by the law and criminals and terrorists should be dealt with in accordance with the constitution.
She also cautioned against the generalization of the church or religious organizations when a rogue leader violates the law saying that individuals should bear their responsibilities regardless of their position in the society.
“If Paul Mackenzie is a criminal, he should be treated as an individual.
Even his family should not be part of his crime. Paul Mackenzie is not the church, in fact he has said he is not a pastor but he is Mr. Paul,” she said.
She says the law should be applied and if found guilty the controversial man of God should be jailed.
“A criminal is a criminal, a terrorist is a terrorist, a murderer is a murderer.
Let them be taken through the law and be prosecuted if they are guilty, let them be put behind bars,” Pastor Dorcas said.
The Malindi cult leader, Paul Mackenzie, has been trending for allegedly brainwashing his followers and congregants by instructing them to starve themselves to death in order to ‘meet Jesus’.

Kenyans online called for investigations without leaving out anybody irrespective of their social status.
In one of the photos, Dorcas donned a white dress while attending a crusade in Kirembe grounds in Kisumu and another of while attending a gathering in Kasarani Stadium in February this year.
Detectives are seeking to have Pastor Odero shedding light on his relationship with cult leader Paul Mackenzie of Good News International Church as the police continue investigating the discovery of bodies of tens of his followers in mass graves in Shakahola village.
Pastor Ezekiel is currently being held at the Coast Police Headquarters in Mombasa County.
