Drama free: Ex partners J Blessing and radio queen Mwende Macharia reunite at Akothee’s wedding
It would appear Akothee’s luxurious wedding at the Windsor Golf and Country Club held on April 10, 2023, was the scene of many reunions for friends, friends turned acquaintances and former lovers too. In this last category was radio queen Mwende Macharia and her baby daddy, music producer J Blessing, born Jibril Blessing.
The duo were all smiles in several photos and videos as they celebrated Akothee and Denis Schweizer, popularly known as Mr Omosh, on their big day. Prior, the two had a bad falling out that left Mwende Macharia as a single mother.
The two got together for a while but broke up circa 2014 as claims emerged that J Blessing had misused her and dumped her for another woman just after she got pregnant. Three years later, Mwende Macharia set the record straight in a magazine interview, saying that the two had been engaged to marry, they had met her parents but ended up breaking up due to “fundamental issues.”
She clarified that she had not been used and dumped; but that their relationship hit a rocky patch and they ended up taking a break from each other before reuniting in a relationship that had no official definition.
“I kept asking him to define the relationship but he wasn’t forthcoming. I later discovered that I was pregnant. All my life, I had not imagined myself as a single mother and so I called him immediately. He came to my house and told me he had moved on. I was very bitter. I threatened to abort, but he pleaded with me not to, promising to support the child,” said Mwende Macharia.
The self-proclaimed queen of the airwaves further said it hadn’t been easy seeing him with another woman but appreciated that he was present for her during the duration of the pregnancy, clarifying he had never said he was not going to co-parent with her.
Since then, the two have been co-parenting their son, Champion Blessing, and moved on in respect to their personal lives. Their reunion at Akothee’s wedding charmed their followers as seen below:

“Hii harusi ya akothee imeleta watu wengi pamoja (Akothee’s wedding really brought many people back together) 😍😍 we are happy.” Janet Kamadi added.
“Huyu sasa ndo baby daddy nyinyi wengine ni baba watoto😂😂😂😂😂😂,” said Franklyn Joe.
“Wah… I dare you two guys to get married next,” said Mvamiaji.
